Sheep Meadow picnic

by angie.

I am very lucky to have a friend like Alexa who documents everything since I have my hands too full to be able to take any photos. She took the best pictures of a picnic we had when Amanda and Jared were in town. It was our first picnic at Sheep Meadow this season and the first one in far too long (maybe a couple years?). It was nice to be back there, this time with our kids!

Whenever we do things like this with the kids I feel like I am so distracted by them, keeping them from grabbing the food or eating the grass and making sure they get fed and stay warm, I miss most of the adult conversation going on around me. But that’s the phase we are in right now and I love being so absorbed in my kids. They are everything to me and I am happy to give them my attention while they’re in this fun, busy little stage.

And even if I feel distracted from the conversation, it’s still so nice to get together with friends to catch up and spend time together. We are so blessed to have so many great friends surrounding us. Amanda is a true gem, someone that enriches my life and inspires me. I am so grateful to have her as a friend! It’s been fun to keep up over the years and see where she goes and what she does. She’s one of those friends who is always interesting and always teaching me things, and she is really fun to be around. It was really good to see her and Jared.
