that time we played hooky and ended up on the carousel

by angie.

Well, Alexa was playing hooky. It was my day off anyway, so I was just along for the ride. And now I can’t think of a better way to spend a Monday afternoon than a long lunch at the Great Lawn, a wander through the Ramble, and a ride on the carousel to top it all off. It was just perfect.

As we stood outside listening to the music and watching the horses, I told Alexa I wished I had a child so we’d have an excuse to ride the carousel. The next thing I knew, she was handing me a ticket. Later on when I expressed surprise that she had actually bought us tickets and we had actually ridden the carousel, she said, “Oh Angie, have you learned NOTHING from me?”

This says so much about Alexa. Oh how I love that girl.

Also, a final note worth mentioning: The weather has been cooling down a bit these past few days. Fall is on its way. I am excited.

We need to get Alexa on a real horse, that would be fun! What a perfect day you had full of all the beauty and joy that comes with your dear friend Alexa. Seeing life thru her eyes is always fresh and whimsical. I love these pictures and they remind me of Alexa. What a gift she is!

Oh Angie what a gift you have in Alexa…. It isn’t just by chance that we meet these extra special people in our lives. She looks so beautiful inside and out… I truly hope some day we get to meet her in person. A horse ride in Southern Utah would be tons of fun…..

It’s so important to let the “kid” in all of us lead us through our days… everyday!! I often find myself acting more like a kid than my own KIDS act like kids. Ok, that sentence didn’t make any sense. But, I’m just saying that Alexa has got that spontaneous kid-gene that is a gift to the soul!! Ang….you and Alexa need to give eachother permission to have play dates every week! :) hee hee!

Nothing beats an end of summer day in the park – and if it’s THE Park . . . even better!

I haven’t been on a carousel since I was like 6! Just looking at these photos though makes me want to change that. :) Love the photos, as usual ;)
