Hello, again.
by angie.
This week I took my camera along and tried to channel Alexa and notice things more. I want to be better at slowing down, counting my blessings and appreciating the little details that make life interesting and beautiful. This summer is flying by (did anyone else notice it was August already? Seriously. How did that happen). I wish life would just slow down a little.
But I think stopping to appreciate the details helps. When I slow down a bit, I realize how grateful I am. For breakfast in bed with my honey each day, for morning walks to work, for flowers in window boxes, for birds in the park, for this beautiful life I’m lucky to live. It’s a good one. I think I’ll keep it. And hopefully I’ll take the time to actually experience it instead of rushing through it like I sometimes tend to do.

Love it. Great attitude and beautiful photos! :)
Love this beautiful peek into life in the big city. I loved the picture of Little Robin Redbrest. I love birds and we have seen some real pretty ones this summer. We are still having a few pretty good rain storms. How about you? We sure missed you at the shower and it will not be the same without you and Klane at Shannons wedding. I will be glad when you are back in Utah. New York is a beautiful place and I am glad you are soaking it all in while you have the chance. Stay well and happy and keep that beautiful smile going. Love you and miss you soooo much…Love Gram…
I love the photos! You really capture the beauty of the city. Like I’ve said before, it’s the next best thing to being there.
I love that you are taking time to notice the little, simple things around you. I do that often. But, I could still do more of it. But, I love to do it because it makes me feel like I really am slowing down time just a tiny little bit. I, just like you, feel like the summer is going way too fast. Grandpa Graf says, often, that the older you get…the faster time goes. It is true. I am only 39 years old and my life is RUSHING by. I literally feel like I can’t even keep up with how fast the days are going. I am learning that it’s so very important to stop and appreciate the simple, little things often. Because if we don’t….we miss those moments. I think that even in the hardest times of our lives, there are many many sweet little moments too. Those keep us going…. I love to look for them! :) Love ya Ang ;)
Love your pics and your perspective. It is crazy how fast things fly by as we get older so slowing down to appreciate all of life is so important. Thanks for reminding me of that!
Thanks for sharing some of the details of your life. I love your posts. I am going to be better about appreciating the little details in my life, which by the way seems to be speeding by to quickly also.
I love, love, LOVE the little details you capture of NYC. They offer such a lovely change of pace to such a crazy city. You do have such a beautiful life! And breakfast in bed EVERY day? I’d better not let Matt read this post :)
With our move coming up, I’ve tried to be better at slowing down and taking in the moments at all of our favorite places and especially in our home. I want to push pause so many times and just live in those moments a little longer. Why can’t time slow down a little bit? If not for our 108-degree temps this week, I couldn’t possibly wrap my mind around the fact that it’s August.
i LOVE this post. there really is so much beauty in the details. and you captured these so well! that one of the stairs is stunning. keep ‘em coming!
I love your posts. All of them.
