a luncheon for ollie
by angie.
Friend Kelsey gave birth to a cute and very tiny baby boy in June. Ollie came early, at 28 weeks, so there wasn’t time for a shower for Kelsey before he was born. This weekend Kelsey’s wonderful, talented friends and sister threw her a beautiful shower, just a few days (hopefully!) before Oliver gets to come home.
We had lunch on the roof of Kelsey and Robby’s new building out in Brooklyn Heights, and it was beautiful. It was so nice to spend the afternoon chatting with friends and catching up on everyone’s summers. I loved watching Kelsey open her gifts, and seeing her as a mother. She is so amazing and has been a champ through these last few months while her son is in the NICU. I am amazed by her strength! I love seeing my friends take on the role of motherhood, they all have transitioned so gracefully into this new phase and they’re all such great mothers. It’s inspiring to see!

wow this is beautiful! the view, the flowers, the cake…every little detail is lovely! i can’t wait to throw a shower one day. i don’t know when that will be, but there are so many fun ideas floating around out there :)
So sad I was out of town and missed this. Everything looks amazing! Thanks for sharing your pics, Angie.
What a lovely get together, and against such a beautiful backdrop! I’m sure you had a fun time celebrating such a happy occasion!
Beautiful pictures, as always!
Such a perfect shower! The location and the details look so lovely. What a wonderful way to celebrate her little guy’s homecoming :)
Wow what a beautiful place to have a shower!!!! The view was inspiring. i’ll bet she is sooo excited to have her little one at home where she can really enjoy him… I had to leave you mother in the hospital for about a week because she was six weeks early. It was so hard… I finally told the Dr. he could either put me back in the hospital with her or let me take her home. We had to rent some baby scales at the drug store so we could weigh her every day to make sure she was gaining weight properly but he let me take her home….What a happy, happy day…. Thanks for sharing this beautiful post……Love you tons….Gram….
Oh I do love a party. This one looked extra fun. It was fun to see what kind of things others do for shower parties. We have really missed having you at the ones here in Utah.
That cake is gorgeous! Love it!
That cake is WOW! I would have loved having a piece of that beautiful piece of artwork. What a lovely shower and such an amazing place. Looks like all that homemaking skill runs in the family. Martha Stewart could not have done any better! I bet you had such a great time. What a great way to cap off your week off. Think of the fun parties we will throw when you get a little closer to home. Of course we will have a little different view than that. Spectacular and so NYC! Soak in your time there and all the memories you are creating.
Hmm… I think I want your life ;)
What a pretty shower! Love all the photos, as usual :)
