a few of my favorite things
by angie.
Here are a few things I’m loving lately…..

Colored jeans. I got turquoise ones at Uniqlo for $13. For a trend that obviously won’t last too long, I feel good about such a cheap buy-in.

Mini Peanut Butter Cups from Trader Joe’s. Wow, these are addicting. Seriously.

Essie Nail Polish. It stays on, FOR-E-VER. The pedicure I gave myself a MONTH AGO has not chipped at all yet, even after trimming my nails. Guess it’s time to pull out the acetone.

Dry Shampoo. I just got this and I’m obsessed. I feel like a whole new world has been opened up to me. A world in which my hair has more volume and texture, and in which skipping a day (or two!) washing my hair doesn’t automatically mean a ponytail day. My hair can look possibly even more fabulous on the second or third day! I never thought this would be possible for me.

Steel Cut Oats. Trying to cut back on refined carbs and sugar, I started having steel cut oats for breakfast instead of cold cereal. I usually add blueberries, ground flaxseed, and nuts of some kind (which I buy in giant bags from Costco and store in the freezer). It’s a filling and tasty breakfast, and I feel like I’m doing something right for my body.

Planet Fitness. I joined this gym last month and I am so happy about it. It’s two blocks away (a 3 minute walk), it’s $10 a month with no contract or commitment, and I have loved being able to work out every day! Lately my shin splints have been flaring up, so I was getting frustrated and feeling like there was no way for me to exercise and there was nothing I could do about it. Now I’m doing something about it, and my 40 minutes a day watching Teen Wolf on the elliptical feels great.

Speaking of Teen Wolf… as dumb as it sounds, I actually really like it. A friend at work suggested it and I gave it a try. The first few episodes I wasn’t really sold, but I persevered and ended up liking it. Not as good as Vampire Diaries, but a great substitute while we’re waiting for the next season.
What are your favorite things lately?

Lets see, here are just a few. I am loving the little notebook your sweet mother-in-law gave me to record my favorite scriptures, amazing moments and thoughts I don’t want to forget. Also loving family time that comes much more readily in the summer. Love Leandro still, but sometimes hate him when the work-out kicks my butt. Love, love, love your dad who celebrated with me 29 years of wedded bliss this weekend! It was a very simple weekend and a perfect one spent with my sweetheart!
Always first and formost The Gospel… . a loving Heavenly Father who is always there for all of us… Your sweet grand
father who is still the love of my life…..Family,Sweet thoughtful children and grand=children…Beautiful summer flowers….Family reunions…Temple Marriages… my computer that makes it possible to keep in touch with those I love so very much…… Long list huh????
I’m liking your list of favorite things. We’re finally getting our own Trader Joe’s!!!!!!!!!! (It’s about bloody time!)
Uniqlo is coming to California! Right when I’m leaving. Bummer, huh? But I am so with you on the skinny jeans. I have a few too many for my own good, probably. They’re just so fun and happy, though! You just can’t have a bad day in hot pink pants.
Oh, and dry shampoo? I thought I loved it before. Then I became a mom and oh my goodness, I don’t think I’ll ever be as grateful for a hair product again ever in my life!
