Holiday Windows + Empire State Building
by angie.
After a leisurely Thanksgiving day, we went for a walk down 5th Avenue to see the holiday windows. Bergdorf Goodman’s windows were spectacular as always. We should have saved them for last, because after starting there, everything else was a bit of a letdown. :) It was a fun night though. We were so lucky to have such unusually warm weather this week. It was great!
After seeing the windows we went to dinner at a Persian restaurant that Justin found. This was one of my favorite experiences of the whole week. I loved trying the Persian food (even if some of it wasn’t my favorite, it was fun to try something so new and different), and it was so fun to see Justin in his element. He spoke Farsi with the restaurant owner and explained all the dishes and Persian ways of eating to us. It was such a fun evening!
We finished off the night with a trip to the top of the Empire State Building for spectacular views of the city skyline. On Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings there is a saxophone player there (thanks for the tip, Alexa!). That really added to the ambiance and the whole experience. It was magical!

I am so glad you liked it!! It is so, so magical and just such an incredible perspective.
And it is so funny that you said you shouldn’t have started with Bergdorf, because we ended with Bergdorf and I actually thought to myself, “I’m glad we saved this for last! Nothing else compares!” hahaha. Next year, we’ll be pros at this :)
Oh what a magical Thanksgiving we had. You would have thought after our feast we wouldn’t be able to handle that giant persion dinner, and lets not forget the pizza the boys ate after dinner as a chaser. Eating our way thru NYC and loving every minute of it. Thanks for your incredible photography to help us all to remember this for years to come. We need to get more pictures of you!!
Ah! This makes me miss New York so much! It sounds like you had a beautiful Thanksgiving. :)
So amazing!!! I’d totally love to experience NYC at Christmastime! Oh, and something super-random: there is this random blog I read sometimes, written by a cute and clever girl who lives in Paris, and I guess she knows your friends Rubi and Stanton. She had pictures of a progressive dinner they did and I was like, “Hey, I recognize those guys!”
I was just about to say that there are no pictures of you enjoying your time with your family and holiday in all these posts. But then the end of this post I was proved wrong. Looks like a great time!
I love those windows and the huge red bow on that building!! How festive! What a fun Thanksgiving you must have had with the family and a nice warm holiday!
Amazing Pictures!!! I loved the ones of you and Klane. The food looked very interesting… I know Justin was in seventh heaven, enjoying the food and speaking in Farsi again. What great experiences you had. Thanks for taking such good care of your family. You are ther BEST. Can’t wait to see you….
Love you tons and tons!!!!!! Gram
In-CRED-ible photography! Stunning. Bergdorf never disappoints!
