For Grandma Marilyn
by angie.
My Grandma Marilyn is a beautiful person. I try to call her fairly regularly to catch up and get a little taste of her goodness in my life. She’s one of the most loving, selfless, Christlike people I know. I miss her and I wish we lived closer and could see her more often.
One thing about my Gram is that she really loves flowers. I remember taking walks with her growing up, and she pointed out and named all the beautiful flowers and plants along the way. She always notices these things. I can just hear her voice exclaiming in breathless excitement, “Oh, Angie! Isn’t that so beautiful!”
So there are countless times when I’m walking around that I notice beautiful flowers and the first thought that comes to my mind is my Grandma. I know my Gram gets a chance to browse the blog from time to time, so Grandma, these are for you! I have been thinking about you so much these last few weeks as the earth has been waking up to Springtime. I wish you could be here to see it. You would love walking through Central Park and seeing all the gorgeous flowers and blossoms. I guess all these pictures I’ve been taking are the next best thing. Love you!

What a sweet post! I love how often little details about the city make me think about the people I am missing. It makes me feel a little closer to everyone I love even though I am so far away!
Grandma and Grandpa just moved back to Hatch, so I’ve been trying to call and tell them about this post. Grandma is having computer issues – and she’s getting a new laptop for her birthday! I’m not sure if she will be able to find this on her old computer, but I’ll read it to her and get her online to see the pictures the first chance possible. She will love it. She will surely say, “Oh Angie, they’re so beautiful!”
This made me cry and I tried to read it to Grandma, and could hardly get thru it. They have moved to Hatch to take care of the cows and it snowed on Thursday, so she needed a touch of springtime today! Love ya, Sis!
wow! great spring pics
i love the baby daffodils all huddled up together trying to hide from the rain.
i love the relationship you have with your mom and grandma. it’s inspiring.
I love your pictures and I loved the memories your post reminded me of, spending time with my mom, your grandma, looking at flowers and all the beautiful things she always notices is inspiring. She is one great lady. Aren’t we all so lucky to have her. I hope she is rubbing off on all of us. :)
