Happy New Year
by angie.
Here is how we rang in the New Year….
On New Year’s Eve, we went skiing at Sundance. The canyon had been closed the previous day because of an avalanche, which meant that we got plenty of delicious powder that was relatively untouched. It was one of my favorite days at Sundance that I can remember. Klane and I went with Klane’s dad Dave, his brother Mike, and his cousins Bryce and Ryan. Yes, I love being the only girl in the group on the slopes. :) It was so much fun.
Later we went up to Lynsie’s house to ring in the New Year with dinner and chocolate fondue. We decided to celebrate on New York time, which meant the festivities peaked at 10:00 pm and we were home and in bed before midnight! It was great.
Tessa is cute with her little fondue fork.
Note the Star Wars and Disney princess pajamas.
Klane taught the kids how to play some new iPhone games.
And now we are back in NYC! We flew in Monday evening. We had SUCH a great trip in Utah, so great that it made me really sad to come back to New York! Lots of our friends had flights cancelled or delayed last week, and I found myself hoping it would happen to us too so that we could stay a little longer with our family in the Beehive state. :) But our flights weren’t cancelled, and Monday morning we got up early to drive to the airport. All day I was bugging Klane with all kinds of schemes of how and when we could plan our move back West.
But after going back to work and getting into the swing of things, I’m remembering that Oh yeah, I really do like New York. Haha. Even if there aren’t beautiful mountains everywhere you look, or lots of family we love to hang out with…. New York is still home for us too, and we have a pretty great life here. Our time to move back to Utah will come soon enough… and in the meantime we’re enjoying life as it is and taking what comes!
I also would like to announce that we are now entering the boring part of the year. The part where winter drags on, the holidays are over and there isn’t a whole lot to do. I am apologizing in advance if this blog becomes a little boring. Hopefully we can find something to entertain ourselves that may entertain all of you blog readers too. ;)

Oh my gosh! That snow is soooooo beautiful! So beautiful! I want to see clean snow so badly right now (I’m itching to get out of Utah, can you tell?) And that fondue looks so yummy! I want to lick my screen.
I need to find Lynsie’s blog. I feel like I would really like her:)
And this post made me realize that I forgot to post out New Year’s Eve date night. I’ve been lazy. I just post tangents (obvious from my last post). I need to remember to post about outings.
And about your comment – WE NEED TO PLAY AND TALK BABIES!!!!!
Okay, for real, I need to work on some stuff. I have so much to do! Ah! I’m going to be up when Forrest wakes up!
Love you to the moon!
This makes me homesick for you two! Love those beautiful kids and miss being around them. Counting all of our blessings Angie! Life is so Great!
Oh Sundance, we love you!
What a great New Years party you had! Sounds like a lot of fun. I am glad you came back.I feel like you were gone FOREVER!
Even if I wasn’t on NY time back in SC, I still would have celebrated like I was, because I am the world’s lamest New Years-er. I slept til 11:50, woke up to watch the ball drop, and was back to sleep by 12:15 :) My point is, I LOVE that you did it on East Coast time, too! And chocolate fondue is always a win.
I am so glad to have you back here!
There is nothing better than a killer powder day! What a perfect way to ring in the new year. I’m glad you made it back to NYC without any delays! The idea is fun and exciting, but in reality it’s a pain. And I’m sure your blog will NOT be boring. You should seek out all the best hot chocolate places – I’m sure there are a lot of good ones.
That snow looks so beautiful! We were so bummed we couldn’t take advantage of all that fresh powder… Matt moreso, of course, because he actually knows what to do with it! And fondue on NYE? Genius.
Happy New Year! Happy Groundhog Day! I love your theme for 2011 and ALL of your amazing holiday posts!
