Christmas in Midtown

by angie.

We went for a walk up Fifth Avenue to see the windows with Lyns and Nathan. Good times, lots of crowds. Especially at Rockefeller Center! We should’ve known better than to go on the Saturday night a week before Christmas. Push and shove, people, push and shove.

There were masses (MASSES.) of people at Rockefeller Center. It was a little ridiculous. I had to shove and elbow a few people to get the above pictures. Just kidding. Kind of.

Even the street carts were decked in holiday cheer.

And this firetruck was spreading holiday cheer on their way to save someone’s Christmas from a fire (that’s what I like to think, anyway).

She looks JUST like Kaylene!! Too funny.

Heidi and I went there on Friday night and it was mad, but so festive and so worth it :)

  2. Ah, that’s exactly the part of New York I dream of seeing at Christmastime. That tree! Your pictures are so pretty that they’re worth every push and shove necessary haha. I can only imagine how crowded it was on the Saturday before Christmas, though!

It is so late and I should be in bed because I’m exhausted, but I have wanted to catch up on your blog for the past couple of weeks because I MISS NEW YORK CITY SOOO MUCH! I actually booked a frequent flyer ticket to the city (but had to let it expire) just for kicks a couple of days ago. That’s how desperate I am to get outta here, haha.

Man, Angie, your pictures are just GORGEOUS. Every last one of them! I seriously get chills looking at so many of them. They make my heart melt. Tony Bennett needs to write and sing “I Left My Heart in New York City.” That would be my theme song.

Christmas in NYC is so magical. I love it. Yeah, the crowds are kinda annoying (really annoying), but when you think how everyone is just there to get in on the Christmas fun and cheer, I guess it’s not so bad. Seeing all of your holiday photos and all of the incredible festivities there– it just makes my heart ache! I want to spend all of November and December there one year.

Tonight Hannah and I did some last minute Christmas shopping at our local mall. It was not nearly as exciting as 5th Avenue or Macy’s on 34th– not even close. I had to dip into our Macy’s for a few minutes… BORING. But the sales were great, so I am thankful. (We constantly find ourselves asking each other things like, “What was your favorite NYC walk?” “Most interesting character you met?” “Favorite discovery?” “Favorite view?” “Restaurant?” We both wish we were still there.)

Thank you for your beautiful and captivating photos. I will comment on all your recent posts soon. They are so fun to read and so incredibly inspiring and uplifting. You are a genius photographer and a brilliant writer. And you are gorgeous– just stunning!

    Merry Christmas!
