Sidewalk bookshop

by angie.

Strand sells books on the sidewalk on 5th Avenue.

Some for a dollar!

I think it’s quite beautiful.

I will be back, next time with cash in hand.

Anyone have a good book recommendation?

I wonder if any of these would be these, but the Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket are divine. They are for children, but his wit is so adult and is genius. They are nice, quick reads.

This is bea-u-tiful. I work in a library, so, you know. Things like this make my heart beat.

    Happy Halloween!

I need to hit up the dollar section of this stand. I love books but have a hard time buying them when I can get them at the lib for free.

I recommend the Hunger Games trilogy. It’s not high-brow literature by any means, but it’s a fascinating and enthralling story that I thoroughly enjoyed reading during my subway time.

I don’t know but this reminds me of Serendipity so I love the whole idea.

I really want to go here now!! Let me know when you go back. I am so impressed with your cell phone pics… yet another reason why I need to get an iPhone :)

p.s. I am super excited for this whole month! Rachel Ray, Jimmy Fallon, Harry Potter, THANKSGIVING!!, and possibly Martha Stewart! yesssssssssss!

Oh, I love me some $1 Strand books! Although I always buy 5 and then never read them and end up having to store them in odd places…but that’s another story. I unfortunately don’t have any appropriate book suggestions—it just so happens that the only books that can hold my attention are the inappropriate novels, so…. ya know. :)

How COOL that Strand sells books on the sidewalk on 5th Avenue– I LOVE IT! I love Strand Bookstore near Union Square– “18 miles of books” (or something like that). One time I dropped my husband off there while the girls and I went shopping in SoHo. He thought he had died and gone to heaven. Seriously.
