10K in Central Park
by angie.
On Saturday I participated in a women’s only 10K Race in Central Park. It was really cool to be a part of, there were record-holding olympians there, it was a big deal! I ended up finishing in a really great time (for me), 51 minutes. It was so much fun! Thanks to Abbie for getting me out there and keeping me on the road after my half. :)

Crossing the finish line.

Thanks so much to Klane and my family for being there at the finish line! It was great to see them.

NYC BFF’s! I love this girl.

After the race my family wanted to go for a run. So we ran home. What’s another few miles?! ;)

Congratulations Angie-girl! Love the pic of you, the Road Runner, next to super-chill Wile E. Coyote, Klane! Very cute.
You are so fast! Ahhh! In my dreams I run that fast. It was so fun! I loved seeing you and Klane when I was almost to the finish line! And then finally meeting your family! Wahoo!! I love your mom (and dad and brother). I wish we could have played longer. Fun day!
Go Ang! 51 minutes is a great time. And you look so cute after your races! Seriously, I bet every girl that crossed that finish line was jealous of how effortless you made it look :-)
Oh that was so fun and a little bit emotional for me to watch all those powerful women cross the finish line. Thousands upon thousands, of all ages, and the best part was my beautiful daughter running by, looking fresh as a daisy!! Really a cool experience to be a part of such a great race. It almost made me want to do it. I said almost, I am still a recreational runner!
Loved meeting Abby! (here is where I disclose that Brandon thought I acted so weird like I knew Abby, Forrest, and the kids when we met for the very first time) Blogs are a wonderful way to get to know someone and meeting in person was even better.
Running in Central Park is one of my favorite things and it is even better with all of us together!
Ang, that is so cool that you did that race! I loved reading about it all! You have lots of good habbits in your life….and running (Excercising) is one of them! You are such a great exmample to the rest of us lazy people in the world!!! :) love ya!
You are my hero!! But seriously, you rock and are such an example. Maybe I should put down my chocolate cake (since I have like a whole cake left after tonight…), put on my running shoes, and go!
Now I know why all of you skinny people can eat your way around anyplace you visit. Running is the answer! It’s not enough to make me want to run-give me a fast walk any day, but I admire those of you who do. Congrats on a great time in your race!
Ha, the problem here is that I only run like twice a week, and I have a love affair with food, specifically cookies and cake and the like. Tonight after looking through all the pictures from my family’s visit last weekend, I was like, ‘Oh, THAT’S where these love handles come from!’ Gotta figure out how to stop enjoying food so much. Then we’ll be set.
Angie, you’re such an inspiration.
when it comes to running and working out, i’m in a rut. i love the feeling i get after a work out or run, but i hate actually getting up and doing it. the fact that your run 10Ks? so amazing! :) awesome job! :)
You are Amazing Angie Phalangie!
“Amazing Angie Phalangie”?? Is there a story here?
Hahaha Katherine, I LOVE all your comments! No story, that is just Wade. :) Haha. I actually did a post about when he visited and we hung out at the Guggenheim in March or April.
