The last days (of our trip)
by angie.

Friday will be remembered as “the day we all got sunburned.” What else happened Friday? I don’t remember (whatever it was, it probably involved food). I just know we laid in the sun by the pool for hours on end, and the sunshine + wind + sprinkling rain combo kept us cool enough that we didn’t realize just how much sun we were really getting. It was okay though, we watched The Sandlot that night while applying copious amounts of aloe to our skin, and the burns turned into tans.
Now that I think about it, I do remember on Friday night we had fish tacos and other mexican deliciousness at Cilantro (see? it was food!) in Lahaina, and went to a few shops for chocolate covered macadamias to take home.
Saturday was the sad day that we had to leave (not until night, thankfully). We went back to The Gazebo for one more taste of their amazing banana mac nut pancakes and giant omelets, oh and that glorious eggs benedict. Spent the better part of the day in the sun by the pool, then packed up and said goodbye to the Maui Ocean Club for another year.
We stopped in Lahaina to check out the Saturday art show under the banyan tree. Local artists bring their work to showcase and sell, it’s pretty cool. There was everything from photography to jewelry to wood carvings to paintings to framed butterflies made out of exotic bird feathers. Then we drove to Pa’ia for another delicious dinner at the Pa’ia Fish Market, and on to the airport.
It was an awesome awesome trip! We loved every second. Most of today I was pretty much useless because my vacation withdrawals were so bad. Not to mention the six hour time difference made for some killer jet-lag. I am looking forward to more summer trips to come! I think I’m addicted to vacation.
Now please don’t forget about all the other posts down there. I did five or six Hawaii posts and I don’t want them to go unnoticed. I feel bad for the little guys if no one pays attention to them. Thanks!

Ang!! I’ve loved looking through all of your hawaii posts tonights!! OH, it’s heaven over there for sure huh!! So glad that you guys captured it all on camera and posted!!! LOVE your pics!!
Ang, you are my hero for blogging about your entire trip already! Seriously! (We all know how long it takes me to blog trips haha.) On our way back I set a goal to blog about ours when we get back from Utah for Memorial Day. We’ll see if that really happens or not :-)
In the meantime… Your trip looks fabulous! And, as always, you took such beautiful pictures. So, naturally, I’m now going to comment on probably all of the Hawaii posts because there were things in every single one that I loved!
Looks like so much fun! I want to go someday and do it all. Ok; note to Klane: you take your blog posse on a journey with MORE photos. Especially if they are quality pics like yours, not like my crappy point-and-shoot as an afterthought ones. Please make sure he understands that for me;).
Wow. I am completely jealous! Maui looks amazing – I’ve never been. I wondered what happened to you, so it’s nice to have you back! :) Looks like it was an absolutely amazing vacation!

I am so jealous I can hardly stand it! It has been 4 years..did you hear me? 4 YEARS since we have had a vacation! Why did you not take us with you?! haha, it looks like you had a blast.
Angie. I LOVED reading all your Hawaii posts. I don’t know why, but it at least gave me a little ray of sunshine in this cold place we call Utah (yes, it snowed yesterday). I loved all the sunset pictures- well, all the pictures really- and can not get over how drop dead gorgeous you are. You are a blonde bombshell and I wonder why you say you envy me when I TOTALLY ENVY YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ha.
Well, needless to say, I am jealous of your Hawaii trip. It sounds like it was absolutely amazing. And the food…… mmmm…. I love how you post about food because I too am a lover of fine cuisine! I want to try every single place you mentioned.
Any way, welcome back home. I’m glad you are back to blogging again- you were greatly missed!!!!
Great pictures. Now I can say I’ve been to Hawaii. Thanks for the fun trip today. Donna won’t believe it when I tell her I went on a little trip to the islands today. I totally think Kyle should work as a contract fisherman for that restaurant, Mama’s Fish House. I would love to read his name on the menu! Glad you had such an awesome trip….and arrived back safely. I heard they filmed LOST in Hawaii. What a sweet place to be Lost…
Ahh… What a sweet sweet journey we just took! I can’t wait until Dad gets to sit down and go thru these with me. I think our missionary got to see a few, but he is so busy and had an incredible week in his own little paradise of sorts. Can’t wait to send on his letter. Whenever I feel tired and like I am not getting what I need to done, I Just look at all my amazing kids and think you are each doing it for me. What a blessing to have such talented and busy children. You make a mom proud. These pictures are unbelievable and yes I agree that you should take up modeling. I have had several people ask me if that is what you are doing in NYC. You are beautiful and Sweet and we love ya!
Just read all 5 new posts. You guys look great with your tans. Hawaii looks, sounds and apparently tastes amazing. I’m so hungry now and all that will satisfy it will be a mahi mahi burger or banana macadamia nut pancakes!! :)
Oh and by the way, Brandon really is happy, he just has to put on the face, and you know, be a junior high boy! Gotta love Beanz! I just want to squeeze him every time I see him he is so dang cute! He is really missing you guys, but busy getting his 4.0 back in place.
Man! Looks like you guys had a wonderful time over at Hawaii! I’ve told mason that he has to take me there sometime before we kick the bucket. I liked how you posted so many pictures! I don’t think there can ever be too many pictures. My hubby has also told the “less is more” quote. LOved your posts!
I want to go RIGHT NOW!!! BEAUTIFUL!! And you, my dear Angie, are a total babe!
K, now I’m going to look at all the pictures again and pretend I went with.
AHH!! SO MUCH FUN! So sad we couldn’t go! But, next year will be awesome and we’ll have a little 1 year old to play with! I love all the pictures and the sunsets are amazing!! I love your blue and white stripe bathing suit, I wanted to buy that one so bad!
What an awesome trip! I’ve never been to Hawaii so it was fun to see your photos!
Angie and Klane, I have loved reading all of your Hawaii posts and looking at the incredible photos– AMAZING!! You guys did it all– the beaches, the snorkeling, the food, the sunsets, swinging on vines, spotting a sea turtle and octopus… WOW! You even made it to church; I am so impressed! You two really do get around. Do you realize that you could get to London more quickly than Hawaii? Good luck in Boston!!
Oh this makes me want the beach so bad…………and my aviators to not be broken anymore.
