A little film by Angie
by angie.
While walking the other morning, I was once again amazed at the perfect scene created by the morning light, beautiful blossoms and friendly exchanges between strangers. Morningtime in the city really is magical. Alexi Murdoch was the perfect soundtrack for the picturesque scene. I thought, “This is like a movie!” then I thought, “Hey… I’ll make a movie!” And so I did.
These clips were all shot on my iPhone; some yesterday morning, some on a 6 am run, and some while walking to work today. I love it because I feel like I’ve finally captured what it’s really like, and why I love it so much. This afternoon the temperature hit 90 degrees, but earlier on, being outside felt absolutely delicious. In the morning it’s cool and quiet. You can hear birds chirping in the trees. There aren’t crowds. Just people walking their dogs, exercising or heading to work. You can hear yourself think. You can feel the city waking up. It’s my favorite time of day.

90 degrees! I had no idea it got so warm there this early in the year. I thought you’d have more frozen days. New York weather is much better than I thought. Good thing you are enlightening me on big city life.
Ang!!! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this post!!! The movie. The song. The words to the song. And, your comments! Thanks for sharing it with the rest of us-
Wonderful video by the way…and I couldn’t stand the fact that it said “one lonely little comment”! Dang, I need an iPhone!
I am SO happy you posted this. It makes me just 100x happier to be living in this beautiful city of ours!!
Ang! all I can say is WOW! “Oh what a Beautiful Morning!” I love this little movie you made you the Cherry trees are breathtaking! LOve it love it love it!
How wonderful. You are talented, so much technology. Seeing this makes me love living in America. Like, yes, we’re all in this together. Make sense? Too cheesy? Oh well, it’s what I think.
Oh Alexi. He is the bomb. I like your little film. Early morning city living is the best, you are right.
Awesome! What a beautiful video. What a beautiful city! I’ve been there several times, but never in the spring. Looks like I’m missing out!
This was beautiful. Everytime I second guess moving to NY, I come across something like this and I’m floored. Definately moving.
How fun!! I love how many flowers there are in bloom there. We are still coming into full bloom out here. I’m impressed with how much “footage” you have. I get nervous pointing my camera at people I don’t know. I have a secret worry that they will do the movie line of, “Hey! What are you filming me for!?!?” I think I need to stop watching movies…
People say NY is so dirty and unkind. You make it look so beautiful and friendly. Thanks.
Oh I love this! You did a great job with it. Sitting here on my couch, I felt like I was walking through with you and getting a taste of your beautiful city. You are going to be so happy you did this later on when you aren’t there anymore because you captured your city living so well!
Oh Angie, this is beautiful. So beautiful. You captured morning time in the city so perfectly. All of the familiar scenes brought tears to my eyes. It’s as though I could feel New York. Oh how I miss it!
Thank you for sharing:)
Wow! Love the new blog and so excited about the video clip. Now I know we have to come and visit in the Spring! Running in the Park would be wonderful. So much better than running on the strip like we did this week!
BRAVO!! I’m giving you a standing ovation! LOVE this! Love it so much I might kiss it! This is going to be a video I watch after we leave and cry and cry. Thank you for sharing it! Loooooove it!

Angie, This was great. I remember running at 6 am in the morning and walking to and from work thinking how glorious this town really is. When I was running last week through the blooming trees, I was in heaven. Glad you captured this.
